iGPS Customer Savings Reach $100 Million Mark

Efficiencies of iGPS’ Plastic Pallet and Logistics System Drive Customer Savings to a New Benchmark

ORLANDO, Fla. – June, 27, 2011 – Intelligent Global Pooling Systems (iGPS Company, LLC), operator of the world’s first pallet rental service to provide lightweight, 100 percent recyclable plastic pallets with embedded radio frequency identification (RFID) tags, announced today that since the company’s entry in the marketplace in 2006 its customers have collectively saved in excess of $100 million, thanks to the efficiencies of its solution.  The counter on iGPS’ web site home page, which tracks savings as the company’s pallets are utilized,  www.igps.net, clicked over to nine digits early Saturday morning, June 25.

“Taking this level of cost out of the supply chain is a milestone to celebrate for us and, most of all, our customers,” said Lewis Taffer, Chief Marketing Officer of iGPS.  “Our pallet and associated logistics provide supply chain efficiencies that go straight to our customers’ bottom lines.  This is a true win for everyone.”

Studies conducted by iGPS customers have documented that use of iGPS pallets results in savings of as much as $2 per unitized load versus wood.  First, iGPS plastic pallets are 35% lighter than typical multi-use wood pallets, which leads to significant fuel savings and lower transport costs.  In addition, the superior strength of iGPS pallets results in reduced product damage and fewer rejected loads.  Plus, the absence of broken boards, splinters and protruding nails reduces costly production downtime.

In addition to bottom line savings, iGPS customers make significant contributions to the environment.  An independent life cycle analysis has shown that iGPS pallets are dramatically better for the environment than wood pallets on every regularly measured dimension, including global warming potential, ozone layer depletion and eco-toxicity.

“This is a great day for our customers and for us,” said Taffer. “And we’re looking forward to the next $100 million.”

About iGPS

IGPS operates the world’s first pallet rental service providing shippers and receivers with lightweight, 100 percent recyclable all-plastic pallets with embedded RFID tags.  Its highly engineered platform—the world’s most advanced shipping pallet—is rapidly replacing wood as the platform of choice among the world’s most innovative companies.  Businesses that switch from wood pallets to iGPS realize game-changing savings—as much as $2 per unitized load—thanks to lower transport costs, reduced production downtime, reduced product damage and fewer rejected loads.  iGPS’ pallet is also a major advance in supply chain hygiene—a platform that is easily cleaned, will not absorb fluids that can lead to contamination and never requires treatment with toxic pesticides and fungicides.  An independent life cycle analysis has documented that iGPS’ solution is dramatically better for the environment than both one-way and multiuse wood pallets.  Launched in March 2006, the company has created nearly 2,000 new green jobs in the U.S. and is led by pallet and supply chain veterans with decades of experience.  iGPS (www.igps.net) is headquartered in Orlando, FL and operates its state-of-the-art National Sales and Innovation Center in Northwest Arkansas.
